PREAMBLE: In the crucial year of Civilian-Civilian transition representing a major landmark in our nation's democratic journey, the CORA has resolved to mobilise the arts and culture community to begin the process of setting an agenda for the new set of political leaders and public office holders. This is the fulcrum of the ART STAMPEDE no 62.

In recognition of his significant role as President of the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA; as well as membership of the Culture and Tourism Committee in the Federal House of Representatives in the last National Assembly, CORA has requested, DR WALE OKEDIRAN to give the Keynote at the Stampede.

His presentation will be followed by a round-table featuring a panel of key operatives in the administration and management of the affairs of thearts and culture community. These include the Executive members of such Artists Association as:

1. National Association of Nigerian Theatre ArtsPractitioners, NANTAP;
2. Society of Nigeria Artists, SNA;
3. Arts Writers Association of Nigeria, AWON;
4. Performing Musicians Employers Associations of Nigeria, PMEAN;
5. Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA;
6. The various associations in the movie making sector eg. AMP; NAG; SWAN; ANA among others There will be plenty to eat; drink and to think

Great Highlife Party for Arts Writers

The Commitee for Relevant Art, CORA. invites you to a SPECIAL SESSION (69th edition) of the monthly GREAT HIGHLIFE PARTY (ELDERS' FORUM) on SUNDAY JUNE 24. The session is dedicated to the community of ARTS WRITERS (and Culture Journalists) -- in essence members of the Arts Writers Organisation of Nigeria, AWON. The session will feature the regular music performances of the veterans -- Alaba Pedro, Tunde Osofisan, Maliki Showman and Fatai Rolling Dollar with guest appearances by sessionists and solo artistes,with a splash of Stand-up Comedy.

It will also feature tribute to the great work being done by the Arts Writers in projecting the developement and trends in the arts and cuture sector of the economy.

At CORA's meeting last Sunday, it was decided that the JUNE and DECEMBER editions of the 6-year old GHP (EF) — would henceforth be dedicated to celebrating the Arts Writers. It is to spotlight and celebrate achivement(s) and landmarks recorded by members of the community in the course of each year.
